Economic development is about fostering an environment that strengthens local businesses, employees and their families. Senator Breslin believes expanding opportunities for individuals and industries alike is key in building our economy.
Senator Breslin has been a strong supporter of labor unions and is a firm believer in workers’ rights. He is also an advocate for the expansion of educational programs that provide students with opportunities they would otherwise not receive such as Educational Opportunity Centers and job skills training. Senator Breslin will support legislation that boosts wages, provides more stability in low-wage jobs and increases access to affordable childcare.

Offshore wind turbine construction is planned to begin soon at the Port of Albany, bringing more good paying jobs to the Capital Region, and renewable energy to our electrical grid. Senator Breslin has supported this project every step of the way.
Senator Breslin passed a bipartisan, first in the nation, Digital Right to Repair bill which will provide jobs to technically savvy individuals, allow farmers to fix their own tractors on-site, and keep electronic waste out of landfills.
Senator Breslin will continue to support initiatives that incentivize local industries like the video-game, craft beverage, and electric vehicle industries. Senator Breslin has served on the Strategic Implementation Assessment Team of the Regional Economic Development Council, overseeing the allocation of $84.1 million in economic development projects in the Capital Region.
